Wow, what a whirlwind week it’s been! I attended the annual National Flute Association convention in San Diego last Wednesday through Sunday–I am so thankful to have these opportunities! Conventions are always a great time to meet face-to-face with the vendors who provide me with the awesome instruments that I get to sell–most of the time I just interact with them through email and the occasional phone call. I also get to see world-class performances and attend meetings and workshops that leave me feeling invigorated and excited for things to come!

Project Trio, naturally, was one of the highlights for me. The infectious energy that these guys exude is so amazing, and I got to be a part of a teacher workshop where they shared some of their techniques for working with students of all ages. One of my favorite parts of this job here at the flute shop is that even though I’m not working directly in a school, I still get to be a teacher! I also got to see fantastic performances by the San Diego Symphony flute section and several other fantastic musicians.

So now it’s your turn…what new, up-and-coming things do you want to here here at the IFS? I have a few new ideas and tricks up my sleeve as well. Hope to hear from you soon!
