Sandra Graef Memorial Junior Flute Competition

Here are some pictures from the Junior Flute Competition on Saturday, April 17th held by the Greater Indianapolis Flute Club at North United Methodist Church. Sandy Graef was Director of Bands at Zionsville Middle School where she took great pride in her students’ accomplishments and loved teaching. In addition to teaching, she was also a member of the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra and performed with the Indianapolis Symphony and the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra. She lost a 12 year battle with breast cancer in May 2008. This competition is dedicated in her memory.
Indy Flute Shop provided the top 3 prizes: AF700BO, YFL371HIIAL, and YPC32 with support from Yamaha and Amadeus, and we also provided 5th prize (a $50 gift certificate to Paige’s). It was a great day for all those involved. Thanks to the many volunteers from GIFC and Andrea Raes who did a wonderful job coordinating the event.
